ABOUT
Teaching math has been my career — not a side job.
For more than two decades, I’ve taught mathematics in the classroom while working individually with students who need extra support, greater challenge, or simply a different explanation to make the math click.
My Story
I’ve spent 23 years teaching mathematics in a Connecticut public high school and more than 20 years teaching at the college level. During that time, I’ve worked with students across a wide range of abilities—from students struggling with foundational concepts to high-achieving students preparing for advanced coursework and the SAT.
That experience shapes the way I tutor. When a student is stuck, I’m not interested in simply getting them through tonight’s homework. I want to understand why they’re stuck, identify what may be missing underneath, and explain the mathematics in a way that makes sense to that particular student.
What I Love About Teaching Math
After more than two decades in the classroom, what I enjoy most hasn’t changed: the moment when something that felt confusing finally makes sense to a student. Sometimes that takes a different explanation, a better example, or going back and rebuilding something that was missed along the way.
That’s what I try to bring to every tutoring session—clear instruction, patience, and a focus on understanding rather than simply getting through the next assignment.
